The GMT-Master comes from the collaboration between Rolex and Pan-Am Airlines, the famous airline which carried out intercontinental flights without stopovers in the fifties. In order to prevent pilots and jet crews on their Boeing jets to suffer from jet-lag, the company asked for a watch which could show both locations times (departure and arrival) at the same time. 
1954 therefore marks the debut of the timepiece with ring for showing other time zones. Also appreciated for its solidity, it has immediately taken away travelers from all over the world. And it is precisely its solidity which, together with the Black Venom colour, make it a fitting timepiece even for the most incredible adventures. All stones used on the bezel are 100% sapphires.
